Hello G-g
|
These ‘Blarticles’ are merely trickling out of me at the moment, but only because I’m deeply enmeshed in learning the software and administrative crap that goes along with producing a blog. Like any decent potential blogger should, I went to the faq’s, (frequently asked questions) to try and cut down my time in the learning-curve. I immediately found the classic list of Blogging Mistakes, and set about the task of adding to it in my customarily innovative manner, which is usually in strange and unusual ways. I especially enjoyed this description of the classic blunder “Hello World“, which is the default name of your first blog within the “wordpress” software unless you change it. Apparently, it’s a rather common mistake which screams out newbie. Now my blog’s purpose is perhaps more ambitious than most beginners. Your first clue might be the domain name, “GlobalArt.net”. Suffice to say I didn’t just luck into the EXACT name I wanted to represent my aims. It was neatly supplied for me by Pixiport.com, which is nearly the web equivalent of an Italian conglomerate. Like the “Corleone” family of digital photography, It’s a huge, brilliant and long established “Portal to the Arts” which has enjoyed staggering numbers of visitors and a lot of attention from “Google” over the years, so while the pressure to produce something noteworthy and relatively free of such colossal blunders as “Hello world” is intense, so too are the expectations of both Pixiport and her many patrons.

Lots of potential readers, on topics as diverse as Digital Photography, Films and the Movie industry, science, cosmology, philosophy and subjects rife with potential for worldwide religious controversy as well, which for whatever reason seems to be my forte. So I figured at least I’d avoid the embarrassing pitfall of a Blog Title as silly as ”Hello World”. Of course the really funny part is, for all this talk of Arts and Humanities, Pixiport, Google, and global perspectives, I’m still a moron with the software and I don’t think I’ve managed to actually connect to anyone or anything yet. All experienced bloggers who might trip across the site are welcome to offer what candid review and/or advice they may. I’ll be humbly and eternally grateful… Like this RSS feed business, what the hell is RS– …Ooohhh. Nevermind, I think I’ve got it… RSS must stand for “Really Silly Salutations” and I guess I just cleared that up nicely now, didn’t I! Oh YEAH, BABY! HELLO GLOBE and LOOKOUT! Here comes MOLLICK and GLOBALART!! And it’s a mighty big globe at that!…… … whuhoo. In the meantime, I’ll just say this to my reader… “I’ll come by around 3:00 to fix that leaky sink, Mom.” |

Did you ever go fix that sink?? (I’m on Hawaii time….)
No actually. This one chick sent me pictures of herself on the beach in Hawaii and I was so completely enraptured by her booty–I mean beauty, that I dropped into a state of near catatonia, twelve hours frozen before the phosphorus glow of my computer monitor, tongue lolling like a hound on a hot day…
hey! i love the site! this is great that you have a blog site that we can all chat on. got a question though….on my mac, when i enter type in the trackbacks section, the type is very very light blue against a white background, which makes it a bit difficult to see what you just typed. can you drop the color value of the type a few degrees so that it shows up on white? just curious.
peace, love, groovy.

Ooh, thanks for the heads-up. It’s obviously somewhere in one of these CSS style sheets. Perhaps I’ll look for six digit color value #FFFFFF, or is it #000000. I always get those two confused and as my expertise is actually within photoshop where RGB color values are easily designated between 0-255, I’m actually ignorant of how the color models translate. But hey, it’s all just “shades” of #xxxxxx, right?
